3M (TM) General Purpose Masking Tape 232 produces sharp paint lines at medium stoving temperatures and allows for clean removal, even on difficult-to-remove surfaces. The thick crepe paper backing contains a solvent-resistant impregnating agent that prevents paint bleed-through with latex and oil-based paints. Our 3M (TM) General Purpose Masking Tape 232 offers moderate conformability for masking around corners and on irregular surfaces. The rubber adhesive bonds instantly and provides strong holding power that resists lifting, curling and adhesive transfer when removing from surfaces such as EDPM rubber moldings. This tape performs well in paint baking operations at temperatures up to 121°C for up to 30 minutes to produce sharp, professional paint lines. Tests show that it is better than conventional masking tapes in terms of sunlight resistance; however, it is recommended not to expose the tape outdoors or to prolonged sunlight exposure as it may become difficult to remove. Our tape offers excellent performance as a paint masking tape and is also suitable for holding, protecting, bundling and a variety of other difficult tasks where a pressure sensitive tape is required. Different masking tapes are designed for different applications and should be removed within their specified time range. A very thin or poorly made tape may splinter or tear when peeled or removed after use. Our masking tapes adhere well, resist solvents or water from the paint and are strong enough to hang plastic sheeting, yet remove cleanly without damaging the substrate.
