The 3M (TM) Cubitron (TM) ll fabric tape 994F contains precision molded grain on a ZF fabric backing. Our 994F series cloth tapes are ideal for carbon steel and aluminum applications at medium to high contact pressures. With a waterproof ZF cloth backing, the 3M (TM) Cubitron (TM) ll cloth belt 994F can be used for wet or dry grinding. Our belts feature precision molded grain, which provides extra fast stock removal and longer life than conventional abrasives. Precision-formed grit consists of precisely shaped, self-sharpening abrasive grains that break continuously during the sanding process and constantly form new, sharp cutting edges that cut through the metal rather than gouging or tearing it like conventional abrasives. These points continuously sharpen themselves as they break, enabling very fast removal with less heat generation - this helps to prevent stress cracks and tarnishing caused by heat. The abrasive produces a uniform finish over its entire service life and prevents burn marks during sanding. The ZF cloth backing increases robustness and the abrasive mineral is resin-bonded, ensuring reliable performance even under high heat and pressure. The belt contains a grinding aid that minimizes grinding temperatures and thus protects temperature-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel and cobalt alloys.
