The 3M (TM) Glass Fiber Fabric Tape 79 is a printable adhesive tape used for coils/transformers and motors. Applications include the outer wrap of bobbins, mandrel coils, conductor terminal panel brackets, end and lead anchors and connectors. This tape is designed for 600 V and can withstand a temperature range of 0 to 150 °C. The 3M (TM) glass fabric tape 79 can withstand a breakdown voltage of 3,000 volts and belongs to insulation class F with a temperature resistance of up to 155 °C. This makes it ideal for insulating electrical components that emit a lot of heat and as a protective winding against heat radiation. Like all glass fabric tapes, it is particularly tear and abrasion resistant. This ensures long-lasting functionality even under high mechanical stress, such as in electric motors. Thanks to its elasticity, the printable adhesive tape adapts perfectly to different substrates and its fabric structure ensures excellent absorption of resins and paints. The 0.18 millimetre thick insulating tape is coated with solvent-resistant acrylate adhesive and is therefore particularly suitable for applications where solvents are essential.
