The 3M (TM) Hookit (TM) backing pad is designed to hold a 3M (TM) Hookit (TM) sanding or finishing disc and our Finesse-it (TM) sponge securely on a variety of hand-held sanding tools. It features a 45° edge for feather light sanding or easier blending of the sanded area. Attach a 3M (TM) Hookit (TM) sanding or finishing disc - or a 3M (TM) Finesse-it (TM) polishing disc to a variety of handheld sanding tools - with the 3M (TM) Hookit (TM) Sanding Disc. Our backing pad grips the nylon loops of the 3M Hookit discs and ensures a finer finish than discs with a self-adhesive backing. Thanks to the 3M Hookit Velcro backing, the disc can be easily attached, removed and reattached. This means it can be used repeatedly and its sanding performance is extended. The discs or plates are attached with a hook in the shape of a "J", as known from everyday hook and loop applications. Our sanding disc has a beveled edge at an angle of 45°. This means it can be used flexibly and can sand the area to a sharp edge or blend it more easily. The Hookit system was developed for work areas where discs with a self-adhesive backing can become contaminated by dust, dirt or particles in the air.
