The 3M (TM) High Temperature Nylon Tape 855 was developed for high temperature applications. The 0.08 mm thick tape consists of a silicone-free rubber-resin adhesive on a robust nylon backing. It is easy to apply and clean to remove and can withstand short autoclave cycles up to +204 °C without leaving any residue. This enables faster anchoring of subsequent paint applications and bonds compared to silicone-based adhesives. High temperature resistance, no silicone adhesive residue The 855 nylon adhesive tape, specially developed for high-temperature applications, is ideal for masking, bond wrapping and bonding. The rubber-resin adhesive used is manufactured without silicone components. The 0.8 mm thick adhesive tape can be exposed to temperatures up to +177 °C for several hours or shorter autoclave cycles up to +204 °C: Adhesive strength and residue-free removability are retained. In contrast to silicone adhesives, the rubber-resin adhesive leaves no residue, which requires more time-consuming post-cleaning and often makes it difficult to anchor certain adhesives and colors later on. The nylon backing makes this tape robust and stretchable, making it particularly easy to apply and remove.
