Adhesive tape for masking objects/surfaces during powder coating and electrostatic painting processes. 3M (TM) Polyester Tape 8902 is a thicker, more durable tape that is ideal for masking at high temperatures and adheres well to silicone coated surfaces. The translucent blue backing is tear resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, the tape is ideal for masking for powder coating and electrostatic painting processes to create sharp paint lines. It can be removed cleanly and in one piece from most surfaces and prevents slipping and tearing. The tape is also excellent for permanent splicing work on silicone liners, papers and films exposed to high temperatures. With good chemical resistance, 8902 works effectively in chemical processes and under demanding application conditions, such as anodizing. The pressure sensitive silicone adhesive performs well in a wide temperature range from 50°C to 204°C.
