The transparent backing is tear resistant. Coated with a silicone adhesive, this tape is excellent for masking powder coatings to create sharp lines of color. It removes cleanly and in one piece from most surfaces and prevents slipping and tearing. It is also excellent for permanent bonding of silicone liners, papers and films that are exposed to high temperatures. This tape is a transparent version of our 3M (TM) Polyester Tape 8901.
