Scotch-Brite (TM) All-Purpose Compact Discs are ideal for cleaning and finishing various metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, brass and copper. Our all-purpose compact discs produce 3 or 4 grit finishes on stainless steel and other metals on curved, contoured and flat surfaces. The discs remain cool and are resistant to clogging due to the open structure of their fleece. This reduces the risk of tarnishing and distortion of the workpiece and extends the service life of the wheel. They are available in coarse, medium and fine grit abrasives. Scotch-Brite (TM) all-purpose compact wheels with silicon carbide abrasive. Silicon carbide is a very sharp-edged, synthetic abrasive commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. It is removed faster compared to aluminum oxide, achieving a smoother finish. Scotch-Brite (TM) industrial abrasives are unique products for surface preparation. The abrasives are bonded into non-woven nylon fibers or synthetic fibers. The combination of abrasives and fibers creates an abrasive system that provides consistent results over the life of the product.
