Our sanding discs feature the Roloc quick-change system for quick and easy disc changes for multiple passes. The discs can be quickly fitted to holders and discs* and then attached to sanding tools such as straight sanders and disc sanders. The discs bond silicon carbide abrasive and nylon fleece fibers using a synthetic resin that dissolves and wears away over time, leaving the abrasive strong and heat resistant. Silicon carbide is a very sharp-edged, synthetic abrasive commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. Compared to aluminum oxide, it is removed faster and achieves a smoother finish. The extra coarse abrasive (XCS) removes unwanted corrosion and a variety of surface imperfections. It aggressively removes paint and rust from seams, door jambs, rain gutters, pinch welds and other hard-to-reach areas. Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are unique thanks to non-woven technology. We combine fiber bundles, synthetic resin and mineral abrasives that together form a thick, open web. The resilient nature of the fibers allows the wheel to conform more precisely to the contours of the workpiece and effectively remove unwanted burrs, dirt and contaminants without altering the geometry of the workpiece. This in turn reduces reworking and increases productivity. Gaps in the fleece also allow abrasive dust to be removed, minimizing clogging of the abrasive. The fibers in the fleece constantly wear down, releasing fresh abrasive for exceptional consistency, the best removal rate and a particularly long service life.
