The Scotch-Brite (TM) Cut and Polish Compact CP-WL is designed for aggressive blending and finishing applications. Our compact discs are harder than other finishing compact discs, good for removing defects or blending heavy scratches and produce a finish with a tight line pattern. The Scotch-Brite (TM) Cut and Polish wheel removes surface defects, grinds rough lines, blends forging marks and finishes imperfections to create a uniform grainy surface. Our cut and polish wheels are available in different diameters and widths. They can be used in robots, grinding lines, bench machines, bench grinders and external cylindrical grinders. These wheels are equipped with aluminum oxide mineral. This mineral is suitable as a robust, durable abrasive. It forms points and edges that break off during grinding, exposing fresh cutting edges. As a result, it remains sharp for longer than conventional abrasives. The disc is often used for grinding and finishing due to its high removal rate, hardness and strength. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide range of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique products for surface finishing. The abrasives are bonded in a non-woven fiber matrix. The combination of abrasive and non-woven material creates a grinding and polishing system that produces consistent results over the life of the product. The open non-woven structure enables cool sanding and is dust-repellent, so that the nylon fibers retain their high removal rate because they do not clog.
