3M (TM) Soft PVC Adhesive Tape 472 combines a 0.26 mm thick backing that combines high abrasion resistance with the inherent conformability of PVC. Designed with unique stretch properties, 472 conforms to 3-dimensionally shaped, curved and convex surfaces while remaining stretched and not lifting after application. The rubber-resin adhesive adheres aggressively to a variety of surfaces and retains its adhesion over a long period of time, including up to one year outdoors. This combination of backing and adhesive properties helps the tape stay securely in place, even in harsh conditions and outdoors. The thick backing makes it ideal for protection in areas where heavy abrasion is expected, as well as for protection against sandblasting and bead blasting. 472 is resistant to most common solvents, but care should be taken not to use highly plasticized materials, ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and esters. Recommended applications: demanding protection, splicing and sealing purposes, corrosion barrier between metals
