The 3M (TM) splicing tape 9351AL is a splittable adhesive tape for flying roll changes with a straight joint when splicing. It has a double-sided coating of repulpable acrylic adhesive and an easily removable protective paper (also repulpable). Our 3M (TM) splicing tape for flying splices 9351AL (repulpable) has a protective cover with notch line for easy manual application as well as an integrated sensor layer (not repulpable, replaces conventional aluminum sensor labels in the splice area). The aluminum sensor integrated into the adhesive tape eliminates the need for the reflective label previously required for splice detection. The repulpable adhesives offer good shear strength for coldset newspaper printing as well as heatset commercial printing and have been developed specifically for good adhesion to a wide range of coated papers. The splittable layer has been modified for an overall lower splitting force and higher reliability of the splice seam when running on belt driven presses. This product can also be used on core driven presses.
