The 3M (TM) Trizact (TM) Short Tape 217EA is manufactured using a microreplication technology in which micron-sized aluminum oxide particles are applied to a J-Rayon backing. Our fabric tapes are treated with an abrasive that prevents heat build-up, warping and discoloration. The 3M (TM) Trizact (TM) Short Belt 217EA provides a consistent, fine finish on hard metals such as carbon steel and stainless steel. Our 217EA short belts feature an abrasive resin structure that breaks off at medium contact pressure, continuously exposing fresh, fast-cutting abrasive mineral. The robust J-backing ensures adjustable processing options, shape adaptability and effective sanding at medium contact pressure. The resin-bonded abrasive has greater heat resistance and prevents flaking. These belts have a film bond that firmly and reliably bonds the belt ends together and consists of a thin film binder that minimizes chatter marks. The belt runs smoothly and provides a consistent finish. Trizact abrasives produce a finer finish, achieve faster results and last longer than conventional abrasives. These belts last up to five times longer than comparable belts and provide a precisely controllable finish, allowing users to reduce sanding passes. Fewer process steps and abrasives are required. Three-dimensional structures evenly distributed over the entire surface of the 3M Trizact abrasive ensure consistent performance and maximum consistency between parts.
