PFERD offers a wide range of coated abrasive tools for processing different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a backing material, a base bond and a top bond for fixing the abrasive grains. Depending on the grit size, a high material removal rate or a very fine surface finish can be achieved with tools made from coated abrasives. The available backing materials differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. The choice of a suitable backing adapts the sanding tool to the requirements of the intended application: Paper is found in the woodworking industry and in skilled trades, e.g. carpenters, painters and varnishers, fabric is mainly used in metalworking, and vulcanized fibre is very wear-resistant and is mainly used in different thicknesses for the manufacture of fibre sanders. The set contains an application-oriented selection of fiber discs for aggressive grinding with maximum stock removal on hard, poorly heat-conducting materials. Constant maximum performance thanks to self-sharpening ceramic grain. Active grinding additives in the coating achieve a significantly higher stock removal rate, prevent clogging and result in cooler grinding.
