Flap disc set corundum A 80 Ø30x15mm, Ø40x20mm and Ø60x30mm shaft-Ø6mm for fine sanding & finishing. PFERD offers a wide range of coated abrasive tools for processing different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a backing material, a base bond and a top bond for fixing the abrasive grains. Depending on the grit size, a high material removal rate or a very fine surface finish can be achieved with tools made from coated abrasives. The available backing materials differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. The choice of a suitable backing adapts the sanding tool to the requirements of the intended application: Paper is found in the woodworking industry and in skilled trades, e.g. carpenters, painters and varnishers, fabric is mainly used in metalworking, and vulcanized fibre is very wear-resistant and is mainly used in different thicknesses for the manufacture of fibre sanders. The set contains three flap discs in the corundum A 80 version with a shaft diameter of 6 mm in diameters of 30 mm, 40 mm and 60 mm. With flap sanders, the abrasive flaps are arranged on a backing in a radial fan shape around the axis of the tool. Their flexibility allows them to adapt perfectly to the contours of the workpiece. The abrasive grain is embedded in a synthetic resin bond on the tension-resistant, flexible cloth backing.
