Duro-M 400/2 flat spiral chuck, cylindrical shank (DIN 6350, Form A), base jaws and non-stepped extension jaws. Brief description: The DURO-M is a manually operated turning chuck with a flat spiral and through-hole. It is predominantly used on conventional lathes for the machining of turned parts. Technical features: Chuck body (and all other components) made of steel; centric clamping via flat spiral; flat spiral drop-forged and highly heat-treated, thread flanks ground on both sides; jaws ground to ensure concentricity within the chuck; factory-determined zero runout as a precision runout; The maximum permissible speed is specified such that, at maximum clamping force and when using the heaviest corresponding clamping jaws, 1/3 of the clamping force remains available as residual clamping force. The clamping jaws must not protrude beyond the outer diameter of the chuck. The lathes must be in perfect condition. In all other respects, the provisions of DIN 6386 Part 1 apply. Clamping force according to DIN 6350: The clamping force is the sum of all jaw forces acting radially on the workpiece when stationary. The clamping forces specified are guide values. They apply to chucks in perfect condition that have been lubricated with Röhm F80 grease. Scope of supply: Chuck, chuck key, jaws. DURO-M chucks are available as 2-, 3- and 4-jaw chucks up to and including a diameter of 315 mm, fitted with lenses. All 4-jaw chucks with front mounting do not have lenses. All 6-jaw chucks are also without lenses. Areas of application: Conventionally clamping horizontal and vertical lathes, as well as milling machines, rotary tables and indexing devices. Primarily used in single-piece or small-batch production or in repair workshops. Clamping of rotationally symmetrical parts for turning and milling operations. Advantages: High concentricity accuracy up to 0.02 mm; jaws are always burnished; minimal interference contour; high force transmission ratio; drip edge for coolant. Further information: The Duro-M, diameter 400, is a manually operated 2-jaw lathe chuck with a flat spiral and a through-hole diameter of 136, featuring base jaws and non-stepped extension jaws, with a cylindrical shank (DIN 6350, Form A), ZA 330. It is predominantly used on conventional lathes for the machining of turned parts.
