Application
The support control is used in devices in which machining approval requires a signal for the correctly overlayed workpiece. With lightweight workpieces, it should be clamped first and then compressed air applied.
Execution
- Housing made from hardened steel, black-oxide. Hardened, nitrated and ground pistons. A2 stainless steel compression spring.
- The support control works like a pneumatic back-pressure nozzle. In starting position, the piston is extended with a compression spring. When a compressed air flow is applied, it flows through the hollow piston and the radial discharge hole on the support control housing to the outside. As soon as a workpiece is inserted and the piston is pressed down by at least 1 mm, the discharge hole is closed. The air flow accumulates and the internal air pressure rises. The pressure value must be transferred from a corresponding pressure signal converter to the control system. The system is relatively insensitive to fine chips.
Notes
The pressure signal converter is not included in the scope of delivery. Effective piston surface with closed nozzle = 0.95 cm² Piston force = Piston surface x Air pressure + Spring force With air channel open, reduce the input pressure to 1 bar to max. 2 bar, e.g. with a one-way restrictor valve. With the air channel closed, there is a dynamic pressure of approx. 3 bar.
